2010 TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEURSHIP WORKSHOP AND TRAVEL GRANT COMPETITION

 CRDF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM

The U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF) will hold a Technology Entrepreneurship Workshop in Baku, Azerbaijan, in Presidium of ANAS, on July 1-2, 2010 for up to 10 teams (1-2 participants per team).  The Application Submission deadline is June 18, 2010.

The Workshop is open on a competitive basis to scientists, engineers, inventors, researchers and technology entrepreneurs with an interest in commercializing their innovations and developing viable enterprises. Applications will be reviewed and participants selected by a panel of venture capitalists and entrepreneurs according to the Program Eligibility and Evaluation Criteria below.

International Conference on Climate Change Curricula in Higher Education 7-9 June 2010 Tbilisi

The U.S. National Science Foundation has funded a conference to bring together expertise from the Southern Caucasus and the United States to exchange international perspectives on climate change curricula in higher education. The conference will also provide an informal forum for participants to discuss climate change research and policy development. The conference will provide multiple opportunities for participants to discuss their work, including oral and poster presentations, panel discussions, and field excursions to areas of climate change impact.

Progress and Innovation: Scientific Center for Innovative Research

On 15 December 2009 at 10:00 (local time), Azerbaijan National Science Foundation (ANSF), the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the U.S. Civilian R&D Foundation (CRDF) will host a conference entitled “Progress and Innovation: Scientific Center for Innovative Research (SCIR)” to unveil the newest ANSF initiative to establish a modern research facility in Baku. The event will be held at the Presidium of ANAS located at Istiglaliyyet kucesi 10.

The conference will feature presentations by President of ANAS, Dr. Charles Dunlap, CRDF Sr. Program Manager, Fuad Ismayilov, ANSF Director, Dr. Bahruz Suleymanov, Director of Azecolab and other prominent members of the science & technology community of Azerbaijan.

The Business Partnership Program Venture Conference Press Release

The Business Partnership Program Venture Conference was held in Baku on December 10, 2008, at the conference hall of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The Azerbaijan National Science Foundation (ANSF) organized this Conference jointly with the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF).

The goal of conference was promote research and development partnerships between companies and teams of researchers/scientists to develop new commercial opportunities of economic benefit to both parties. The workshop brought together 50 scientists.

The U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation's CIB&I Senior Program Manager Natalia Pipia,  Associate Program Manager Maggie Sobotka  and Senior Technology Commercialization Liaison Officer Scott Macfarlane participated in this Conference.
