Azerbaijan National Science Foundation and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences
Award after academician H. Abdullayev
Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Azerbaijan National Science Foundation jointly announce the 2008 award after academician H. Abdullayev.
Award after academician H. Abdullayev was instituted as per Decree of the general committee of Azerbaijan National Academy of Science No. 21/72 dated October 17, 2003 in honour of 90th anniversary of prominent scientist, founder of the High technology development school in Azerbaijan Hasan Mammad Bagir Abdullayev . This award is given to authors of prominent scientific articles on physics, biophysics, high-technology and other similar science areas, PhD’s, candidates of science, postgraduates, physics students and republican and international Olympiad winners.
Based on the decision of Award Committee named after academician H. Abdullayev Azerbaijan National Sciences Foundation will evaluate the proposals according to the criteria listed below:
- two awards of 1000 (one thousand) manat each - to doctors of sciences and doctoral students;
- four awards of 300 (three hundred) manat each – to postgraduates
- six awards of 100 (hundred) manat each - to students and Olympiad winners
- from 2008 the Committee has instituted one award of 1000 (thousand) manat to the author of the best article dedicated to the life and activity of Hasan Mammad Bagir Abdullayev.
Together with monetary award the winners will receive the diploma “Academician H. Abdullayev award winner".
Submission Process
Documents for award can be submitted by Azerbaijan Republic state authorities and organisation, international and public organisations, research councils.
The deadline for documents submission is 18:00 on 31 May 2008
The date for the announcement of competition results is October 2008
Completed documents must be submitted to Azerbaijan National Science Foundation. Applicants must provide:
- petition (application) which is given to candidates by their organisation. (Petition will justify the reasons for nomination and public opinion on the submitted work. Full name of the participant shall be accurately indicated. Petition must have signature & stamp of Authorized Institutional Representative.)
- minutes of meetings related to the selection of participants;
- brief information on work experience or education of each candidate;
- list of scientific publications of relevance to the project;

Scientific works that won any awards in the past or that received any grants shall not be submitted for this award.
